Our woodwork products will bring a high-end natural feel to any area of your home and are made from the highest quality kiln dried and handpicked hardwood slabs.  We source our materials from local sawyers who only use sustainable sources of wood. All of our products are created in our workspace in rural New Jersey, with a great deal of attention paid to detail.  We make sure to get a topnotch finish finely sanded with no defects, this paired with the quality of wood creates a unique one of a kind heirloom piece. 

NOTE: Because each slab we use is unique, there will be natural variations in grain patterns, width and coloring throughout the wood. At the Orchard we embrace this uniqueness and feel this is what makes our pieces so special and natural. It is important for the buyer to voice any preferences, clarifications, or questions they have about the product before they make the purchase.

Orchard Originals is a family owned, American made Woodworking Company specializing in solid wood slab furniture, countertops and home decors located in New Jersey.  We are able to offer a variety wood species.  Specializing in Black Walnut, Maple, Cherry, Oak, Beech, and other rare woods.  We stand behind all of our products with the best customer service in the industry. Our expert staff are ready to help ensure our customers are 100% satisfied with their experience.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

★HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?
• Lead time is 1-2 weeks to your door step.

★WILL THE LIVE EDGE(S) HAVE BARK ON IT?
• We keep all live edges rustic and authentic looking but they are sanded to a perfect finish. Per your request, we can look for a slab that has bark and leave it intact. However, we do recommend no bark as it tends to fall off over time.

★ARE SLABS DRIED AND FINISHED?
• Yes, All slabs are air dried for 2-3 years and kiln dried for 1-2 months to ensure the slabs do not warp or crack in your environment and moisture is accurately measured to ensure it’s at the proper Moisture content (7-10%). They are then sanded to a fine, smooth finish.

★WILL MY SLAB HAVE A LIVE EDGE?
• All slabs have a live edge. (Please specify if you would like the live edge to be on both sides)

★HOW THICK ARE THE SLABS?
• 1.5 – 2.5″ thick – we do have some thinner/thicker pieces available on occasion, please message us.

★CAN WE MAKE A CUSTOM PIECE

• Here at the Orchard we are able to work with our customer’s vision to create a custom piece that will be the requested height, size, cut, and species of wood.  Please feel free to reach out to us to discuss!
